# 3 Minute Spots Assistant District Governor (ADG) Grant Rowe indicated that one of his duties is to report on the health of clubs, hence is visit. Grant encouraged members to attend the Inter City meeting at Burra on the 28th March as this is a great time of fellowship.
Grant left us with a proverb "If you know the road, you always get their first".
Rtn Peter Baur promoted the Valentines Rotating Dinner on the 13th February. The list is circulating for names and pre-ordering of meals.
PP Graham Nichols reported back on a club visit to Rotarua West whislt in New Zealand. The club has 48 members and is one of five in Rotatrua. Graham presented President John with a banner from RC of Rotarua.
New Member Induction President John welcomed Dr Andrew Johnson; CEO of Port Pirie Regional Council to Rotary PP Dino Gadaleta introduced Andrew and will be his Rotary mentor. Andrew is a former Rotarian and was president of RC of Kingston,SE in 95/96. Andrew along with his wife Anna and two sons Jordan and Ryan we welcomed into the RC of Port Pirie
GUEST SPEAKER PP Bob Ward provided the club with an informative presentation on his recent trip to Bangladesh. Bob presented some facts to help inform our understanding: Bangladesh: population 161 million; size 144,000sq km Tasmania: population 480,000; size 68,331 sq km Bangladesh has a single child policy and an infant mortality rate of 59 per 1000. Another policy is that all children will attend primary school for free.
The trip was with Caritas Australia (www.caritas.org.au ) seeing the Caritas projects in operation in Bangladesh. Projects being: • Person with Disabilities Self-Initiative to Development • Natural Resource Management and Environmental Protection Program • Arsenic Mitigation Program • Anti-Trafficking Program • Safe Motherhood Program Photos of the projects were presented via PowerPoint as a powerful illustration of what the group had seen.
The group was often the centre of attraction as in some areas they were the first westerners that had visited.
During the trip Bob noted two Polio Plus stands.

The program included a talk from a Mum, Di Arnold, from Port Pirie, who has a daughter, Georgia, currently on exchange in Switzerland and who was an exchangee herself to South Africa over 30 years ago, a talk from current exchange students from overseas, Juulia and Pablo, and seminars on luggage, insurance and other necessary survival skills.

As a Rotarian engaged in a business or profession, I am expected to:

3. Do all in my power to dignify my vocation and to promote the highest ethical standards in my chosen vocation;

5. Recognize the honour and respect due to all occupations which are useful to society;
6. Offer my vocational talents: to provide opportunities for young people, to work for the relief of the special needs of others, and to improve the quality of life in my community;
7. Adhere to honesty in my advertising and in all representations to the public concerning my business or profession;
8. Neither seeks from nor grants to a fellow Rotarian a privilege or advantage not normally accorded others in a business or professional relationship.
Advancing high ethical standards in the work place, Rotarians can use their standing as business leaders and respected members of all professions to promote and advance high ethical standards by setting a positive example among employees, associates, and the community in general. All types of work-related interaction offer an opportunity to encourage ethical behaviour.
